Well, explorations into trauma and reintegration led to a weakened immune response, and I caught the flu! It was a great learning and teaching experience. So many times in the office, people correlate the experiences they have in their bodies to something that may have happened to them physically. My shoulder hurts because I have been carrying my purse on that side, I did a downward dog wrong, I fell, etc. While all of the following are true, they lead to a very oversimplified picture.  When we look at our health in a complex manner or a multiple perspectives manner, it often leads to a more nuanced understanding of what is really happening. It gives us more opportunities for health, growth, and expansion.

Where the mechanistic viewpoint comes from.   In the 17th century great thinkers like NEwton and Decartes began to lay down the foundations of understanding of things by reducing a whole thing into its parts to understand things like bacteria and transmission of diseases. Unfortunately this petri dish understanding has been applied to many treatments where learning what is happening with the whole system and allits parts gives us a better understanding of a current health concern.

From a mechanistic viewpointI was exposed to a virus by one of my sons friends.   However from a vitalistic viewpoint my bodies immune system was weakened from emotiononal stresses of integrating new ideas and concepts on ancestral trauma, integrating from vacation back into my previous life, and exercising after reduced regular exercising while traveling, eating home cooked meals instead of eating out and indulging in foods like sugar I love.   It is a complex picture with only a few of those complexities mentioned here.

Where are you oversimplifying your connection with your body?   Can you name at least five reasons beyond the obvious for something you are experiencing now.
